India stands only one win away from sealing their maiden T20I series in New Zealand as they took 2-0 lead in Auckland with comfortable chases. The form of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer will be positive for India going into the 3rd T20I in Hamilton as their batting superstars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are yet to fire at their best. New Zealand have a lot to worry about starting from the batsmen to follow the opening pair. All the remaining three T20Is in this 5-match series will be must-win games for the home team.

All the key stats and numbers that matter ahead of the do-or-die game for the home team:

7/9 – New Zealand won seven of the nine T20I matches they played at the Hamilton’s Seddon Park. The last T20I at this venue was played between New Zealand and India only which the hosts won by mere four runs.

6.22 – The economy rate of Jasprit Bumrah in T20I cricket post the 2018 IPL; the best economy for a pace bowler and the 3rd best overall among the full-member nation players in this period. (Min: 200 balls)

Mujeeb Ur Rahman (5.34) and Imad Wasim (5.82) are other players from the Test-playing countries to have a better T20I economy than Bumrah in the last 20 months.

28 – Ish Sodhi’s 28 wickets in the Twenty20 cricket at the Seddon Park are the 2nd most by any player. The leg-spinner picked up 28 wickets across 26 T20s at this venue and is only behind Anton Devcich who bagged 36 wickets.

64.22 – Martin Guptill has a batting average of 64.22 in the Twenty20s at the Seddon Park. The New Zealand opener aggregated 578 runs across 12 T20 innings with help of five fifties.

142.33 – The batting strike of 142.33 in the T20I format at the Seddon Park is the highest for any venue in Men’s T20I cricket. (Min: 2000 balls) The venue has hosted nine T20I where 19 individual fifty-plus scores have been recorded. The balls-per-six ratio in T20I cricket at this venue reads 13.31 which is higher than that of the Eden Park.

303 – Runs KL Rahul has aggregated across his last five T20I innings – 57*, 56, 54, 45, 91. He scored four fifties in these five innings at an average of 75.75. Rahul will be the first Indian with four consecutive fifty-plus scores if he scores a fifty in the 3rd T20I.

1088 – Runs Virat Kohli has scored in the T20I format as captain; the 4th most T20I runs by any captain. Kohli needs 25 more runs to go past MS Dhoni’s tally of 1112 runs to become India’s most prolific skipper in T20Is. Virat already holds the respective Indian record in Test cricket and across all matches in International cricket.

9952 – Rohit Sharma is 48 runs away from completing 10000 runs in International Cricket as an opener. Rohit will be the 4th Indian opener to reach this milestone when he scores those 48 runs and also the 8th Indian with 14000 runs in International Cricket if he scores 96 more.
