Pakistan unveil new kit for the World T20 2016
Pakistan Cricket’s official Facebook page has unveiled the pictures of Pakistani cricketers including skipper Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shehzad, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Hafeez and other senior members in the brand new jersey they will be sporting at the World T20 2016.
The jersey of Pakistan cricket team for mega event of ICC is not very different from current ODI and T20 jersey. The only major difference is the giant 3D star shirt on the jersey.
All the controversy surrounding Pakistan’s participation in the mega event was laid to rest after it was announced that the team will finally arrive at Kolkata tomorrow. The decision comes after weeks of debate and discussions over the security concerns of the previously chosen venue Dharamshala.
A three-man delegation sent to Dharamsala gave its unanimous report to the home ministry as well as the PCB. The report suggested that the security provided wouldn’t be sufficient. Thakur and the ICC finally acquiesced to the demands of the PCB as the venue was shifted to the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Najam Aziz Sethi, a renowned Pakistani journalist and the former Chief Minister of the Punjab province in Pakistan sent his endorsement of permission for the Pakistan cricket team to feature in the World T20 via twitter. The tweet from Sethi read, “On the basis of pukka assurances from the Home Ministry of India & CM Bengal, Chaudry Nisar has granted permission to PCB to send Team to India.”
Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka on the 14th of March in their first and only warm-up match.
