Chris Lynn has been a revelation in the T20 format, albeit his One Day and red-ball career could not take off. The Australian batsman was recently a part of the 2020 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). And he didn’t disappoint the crowd in Pakistan, where the entire was being hosted for the maiden time, by any means. The Queenslander was on top of his game from the very outset.

In the eight matches, Lynn racked up 284 runs at an average of 40.57, most importantly at a strike-rate of 179.74. He helped the Lahore Qalandars muster significant runs in the powerplay. In the first few games, he got a number of scores in the 20s and 30s, but were unable to convert them. However, against the Peshawar Zalmi, Lynn churned out 59 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

But he came into his won in the Qalandars’ final league game against table-toppers Multan Sultans in Lahore itself. The 29-year-old mauled the opposition bowling to churn out 113 runs off 55 balls with the help of 12 fours and eight colossal sixes into the stands. It helped his side chase down 187 with seven balls to spare. It also took the Qalandars to the PSL semis for the maiden time.

However, there was something in store for the Qalandars, Lynn and the PSL as well. The coronavirus pandemic spit venom with all its might. Bearing in mind the situation, Lynn decided to bid adieu to the Qalandars. Before leaving, he wished his team luck and said that there’s more to life than only cricket. In the very next day, the tournament authorities decided to put an end to the PSL itself.

Lynn took to Instagram and wrote, “Thoroughly enjoyed my time at the @thepsl unfortunately in these circumstances I’ve chosen to head home, I’ve always said there is more to life than cricket and this is certainly one of these cases. I have full faith in the @lahoreqalandars to go all the way but more importantly have fun lads! Thank you to everyone involved, Pakistan you have been a blast,”
