Piers Morgan and Virender Sehwag enter Round 2 of Twitter battle
Piers Morgan and Virender Sehwag entered what is perceived to be the second round of their war of attrition on Twitter. Earlier, the duo was involved in an altercation shortly after the 2016 Rio Olympic games when Morgan lashed out at the Indian contingent following a terrible performance in Rio. This also attracted the likes of socialite Shobha De to comment on the same.
However, it was Virender Sehwag who leaped to the defense of the Indians as the BBC presenter began trending on Twitter soon after. The attrition continued soon after the Indian opener’s birthday when Morgan decided to correct a typo made by Sehwag following England’s ousting in the 2016 edition of the Kabaddi World Cup.
It was Morgan who replied to Sehwag on the day correcting a typo from ‘loose’ to ‘lose. While the world awaited a reply from Virender Sehwag, the reply shockingly never came from the 38-year old as he aimed his guns on the rest of the birthday boys amongst his former colleagues and a few other prominent names in the cricketing world at the moment.
The reply, however, finally came following India’s triumph in the 2016 edition of the Kabaddi World Cup. A tweet from Sehwag read: “India invented Kabaddi & r World Champs for the 8th time.Elsewhere some country invented Cricket & r yet only good in correcting typos. #INDvIRN”

Although the Indians had clinched the Kabaddi World Cup for the third consecutive time, this is the first time the coverage of the tournament has reached the millions of followers it has. However, Mr. Piers Morgan was not quite done just yet. A tweet from his account read: “Mate, we invented Darts & Curling but I wouldn’t boast about being ‘World Champions’ at them.”
The world, as well as the Twitterati, awaits a reply from the cheeky and wily former Indian opener.
