PSL 2018: Quetta Gladiators welcome the 'Machine Gun' onboard
Gladiators are currently placed at the top of the points table with 10 points to their name in the league stages.
Quetta Gladiators is having a merry time in the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). They are currently placed at the top of the points table with 10 points to their name in the league stages. Now, as the tournament is approaching the business end, they have bolstered their camp an inch more. Hard hitting English batsman Jason Roy is all set to join the Gladiators roster.
Jason Roy arrived in the UAE to join the Quetta Gladiators team. This will be the first time when Roy will be playing for the Gladiators in the PSL. Last season, he was with the Lahore Qalandars. At the Gladiators camp, Roy will find company in former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen. Certainly, Roy will try to give his best shot in the format.
In the recent times, Jason Roy has been in a fine form. In a recent ODI fixture against Australia, Roy had slammed a quickfire marathon ton down under. Also, he is a renowned hitter of the cricket ball who is known for his hard-hitting approach in the powerplays. The PSL 2018 has been quite a low scoring tournament thus far.
Hence, the fans could pretty well be in for a hard hitting show from Roy as the tournament inches closer to the playoffs. Roy missed out on the first half of the PSL owing to his national commitments. He was with the English team in New Zealand where the English side registered a historic series win in the ODIs. The official social media handle of the PSL welcomed Roy on the Gladiators roster with a tweet.
Here is what the Quetta Gladiators tweeted:
“The Machine Gun of #Zordaar11 Jason Roy has joined the Purple Force. Quetta Gladiators are even more stronger now #ShaanePakistan,” the official social media handle of the Quetta Gladiators tweeted.
