Rahul Dravid's son Samit Dravid steadily making strides in junior cricket
In the match against the Frank Anthony Public School, Samit Dravid smashed a brilliant 125 laced with 12 boundaries.
Over the years, there have been several father-son duos in the world cricket. Now, another such pair seems to be coming to the fore. Legendary former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid seems to be grooming his young son, Samit Dravid, really well. Samit has been making some steady strides in the local cricket in the city of Bengaluru.
Unlike his father, the style of Samit Dravid is slightly more aggressive. The young kid has a very strong technique and is already being tipped as the next big thing in the Indian junior cricket. The 12-year old Samit already has centuries to his name. Last year, he played for the Bangalore United Cricket Club in the U14 club cricket tournament in Bengaluru.
Big ton in 2016
In the match against the Frank Anthony Public School, Samit Dravid smashed a brilliant 125 laced with 12 boundaries. En route his knock, he had stitched a valuable 213 runs for the fourth wicket with Pratyush G. His team managed to register a mammoth win in the 30-over match that was played at the Loyola school grounds.
A year earlier, back in 2015, Samit had shown some seriously consistent batting display in the U12 level cricket in the city. He had smashed 3 fifties, all in match winning cause, for his school team Mallya Aditi International.
Well, going by the rate and consistency that Samit Dravid is batting, it will only be exciting to watch how the young lad progresses from here. One would hope that the case does not dwindle due to the pressure of being a star kid. This was pretty much the case with Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar, who made big news with his impressive performances.
But the pressure to live up to the tag of being Tendulkar’s son had a tricky impact on the promising left arm pace bowler.
