Rajasthan Royals react hilariously to Rahul Dravid's recent viral ad film
Known for his cool and stoic avatar, Dravid showed an exact opposite version in the ad that was able to tickle everyone who even slightly knows the 48-year-old.
It takes something incredibly special to steal a part of IPL’s thunder on an opening day with two heavyweights like Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) taking a go at each other. And an angry Rahul Dravid is just that “special”.
The world in the last year has seen strange things. But even by the standards of those wild proportions, the sight of Rahul Dravid yelling at the top of his voice, banging down the side-mirror of a car with a tool that he used to unfurl the most exquisite strokes with, and openly challenging people for a fight, is a sight wilder than the wildest.
If there is anything that has spread faster than the new coronavirus infections in India in the last 24 hours, it is the unimaginably funny side of Dravid, brought out in a viral ad clip of credit card bill payment app Cred, watching which the internet and the social media has just not been able to sit quietly. Known for his cool and stoic avatar, Dravid showed an exact opposite version in the ad that was able to tickle everyone who even slightly knows the 48-year-old.
Social media goes berserk seeing Dravid, the “Gunda”
Watching the never-seen-before side of the batting legend, the video became an instant hit, garnering the attention of even cricketers and celebs, who went gaga over the ‘Indira Nagar Ka Gunda’ version of the former Indian batsman.
Reacting to the ad, Indian skipper Virat Kohli tweeted “Never seen this side of Rahul Bhai”. Joining the bandwagon was Dravid’s former IPL franchise, Rajasthan Royals, who shared a meme, where they declare his performance in the ad is “one of his best performances”.
Former captain of the Indian Cricket Team, Dravid is considered one of the greatest batsmen to have played the game. In his career spanning over 16 years, he represented India in 164 Tests, 344 ODIs, and a solitary T20I game, amassing over 24,000 runs and 48 centuries. Dravid also holds the records of playing most deliveries in international cricket, a testimony of his patience and composure. No wonder, his angry and impatient avatar caught everyone by surprise.
