Ramiz Raja boosts hapless Pakistan, says best way to avenge humiliation is by winning all 4 games
The players for their performance as well as personal life have been targetted by the fans.
The Pakistan cricket team has been facing brutal reactions following their 89-run loss to India. If the defeat to the arch-rivals wasn’t enough in terms of humiliation, it has also pushed them close to the exit from the ICC World Cup 2019. With just one win from five matches, the green shirts need to win all their remaining four encounters if they harbour any hope of making the semi-finals. However, even winning all the matches from here they will not be assured of a top-four spot since the team has a poor net run-rate.
In the 1992 edition, too, Pakistan were in a similar hole with one win from five games. But yet, they made a dream return and went on to lift the trophy by winning five games on the trot. That time, however, Pakistan were led by the charismatic leader Imran Khan who is the current prime minister of the country. His leadership clearly commanded more respect and authority than the present skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Off-ground challenges have hurt Pakistan more
For Pakistan, off-field challenges have made it even more difficult. The team has faced all sorts of humiliation and been under constant attack since June 16. Shoaib Malik, one of their experienced players who has failed miserably in this World Cup, has been targeted specifically. After having endured two ducks against Australia and India, Malik’s personal life has also come under the fans’ wrath, making things unpleasant.
Against this boiling backdrop, former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has come up with an advice to boost the beleaguered side. In a tweet, he said the best way Sarfaraz’s men can take revenge against all the humiliation is by winning the remaining four matches. The 56-year-old, who was a member of the squad in 1992, said recently that time has come to revamp Pakistan cricket.

Pakistan next play South Africa at Lord’s on Sunday in what is a must-win game for both teams. South Africa also have a solitary win in the tournament in six games and are virtually out of the race for the semi-finals. Both the outfits in green have had a forgettable World Cup in England and Wales this year and would have to do a lot of soul-searching post the competition.
Pakistan have lost 13 of their last 16 games, won one while two were washed out.
