Kolkata Knight Riders always had a strong bowling squad at the beginning of each season. However, this time around, their bowling line up looks a lot weaker than the other teams on paper. Though they have quality foreign bowlers, the restriction of maximum 4 overseas players per game means many of them will warm the bench throughout the season.

The pace attack will be led by Aussie Pat Cummins who was the highest paid player in the auctions ahead of this season. Along with him, Lockie Ferguson and Andre Russell are other overseas pacers. The Indian pace attack looks bleak with none of the players amongst Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Prasidh Krishna and Sandeep Warrier having enough experience.

The spin department looks a bit more potent with options like Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav and Chris Green. Varun Chakravarthy and Manimaran Siddarth have proven themselves in regional cricket. Apart for these, Nitish Rana can also bowl effectively in the middle overs.
