Ravi Ashwin agrees to a fan’s request of featuring in Koffee With Karan

The Kofee With Karan show, hosted by the popular Karan Johar, came to the limelight a couple of months ago. Two of the Indian team’s players- KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya- featured in the show and it somewhat turned out to be massive development in their respective careers. In the show, a number of questions were hurled at the talented cricketers by the host.

The players ended up making some comments, which were later termed as ‘sexist’ after which they were handed with an indefinite ban by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The incident created a significant amount of controversy. However, after a lot of speculations, the suspensions were lifted and they resumed their respective cricketing duties.

In the meantime, Ravi Ashwin, the veteran Indian off-break bowler, was asked a question regarding this show. The Tamil Nadu-born bowler posted a story on his Instagram page, using the feature ‘Ask Me Anything’. A supporter replied to the story and wrote, “Would you like to go to Koffee With Karan,”. Ashwin didn’t disappoint the supporter. He replied and wrote, “Sure”

The experienced off-spinner has encountered a number of injuries over the last few months owing to which he hasn’t played much cricket. With him being out of the India limited-overs team, he isn’t playing international cricket. However, Ashwin isn’t missing out on playing the game as he is currently plying his trade in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy for his state team.

In sis matches thus far, he picked up seven wickets with best figures of 3/31 against Bihar in Surat. He is next scheduled to captain the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the 12th edition of the cash-rich and prestigious Indian Premier League (IPL), which is scheduled to get underway on March 23.
