It’s the fourth game of this Road Safety World Series T20 and West Indies have already played one game. On the other hand, South Africa are yet to get off the mark.

The Brian Lara-led side didn’t have an ideal start to the tournament. Despite getting a solid start with the bat, they crumbled and couldn’t recover to post a big total on what was a good batting track at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The bowlers didn’t look too penetrative either. Hence, it is the middle order and the bowlers that need to step up.

Meanwhile, South Africa start their campaign with this game. They have some big and quality names in their ranks. The likes of Herschelle Gibbs, Lance Klusener, Jonty Rhodes, Albie Morkel and the others are stars and have done well in their careers. Moreover, South Africa seem to have some of the best fielders as well and there will be a lot of focus on the way they perform in the field. Overall, South Africa look a very well-rounded side and may well start this game as favourites as well.

Team Combination

Daren Ganga combined to open with Shivnarine Chanderpaul in the first game and that should continue given the success that both of them had. In fact, Chanderpaul was the best batsman. Brian Lara is likely to come in at 3 but the likes of Carl Hooper and Ricardo Powell need to stabilize and step up in the middle-order. Tino Best will continue to lead the bowling attack.

South Africa Legends

Star player Herschelle Gibbs is likely to open the batting with Jacques Rudolph. South Africa boast of a strong middle-order with the likes of Lance Klusener, Jonty Rhodes, Morne van Wyk, Albie Morkel and Ryan McLaren present. In fact, Klusner, Morkel and McLaren will play a big role with the ball as well. Johann van der Wath and Paul Harris will be the premier bowling options.

Probable XI: Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Rudolph, Johann van der Wath, Lance Klusener, Jonty Rhodes (c), Morne van Wyk (wk), Ryan McLaren, Andrew Hall/Garnett Kruger, Albie Morkel, Johann van der Wath, Paul Harris

Focus will be on

Shivnarine Chanderpaul [WI Legends] – The left-handed batsman batted beautifully in that first game against India. He scored 61 off just 41 balls which included six fours and two sixes. There’s no doubt Chanderpaul will be a key player for West Indies and will be looking to lead the charge with the bat.

Herschelle Gibbs [SA Legends] – The South African opener has the ability to go big at the top of the order. He can get the big scores and take the game away from the opposition in no time. There will be a lot of focus on the way Gibbs fields as well.
