Ross Taylor heads the list of most centuries for New Zealand: Ross Taylor’s brilliant knock of 235* against the Aussies in the ongoing Perth Test match has made him New Zealand’s top century maker in all formats of international cricket. The classy right-hander now has 28 international hundreds. Having played 296 international matches he has made 13 Test and 15 ODI hundreds. Former batsman Nathan Astle features next in the list with 27 international tons. The aggressive batsman played 308 matches making 11 Test and 16 ODI hundreds. Arguably NZ greatest batsman ever, Martin Crowe follows them in the list with 21 Tons. The former talismanic captain made 17 Test and 4 ODI hundreds.
Kane Williamson and current skipper Brendon McCullum feature at numbers 4 and 5 respectively. Williamson is a prodigious batting talent and one of the finest batsmen in world cricket. The elegant right-hander has made 12 Test and 7 ODI hundreds in his young cricketing career. He has played 153 international matches thus far. McCullum is one of the most destructive batsmen in world cricket. Known for his fearless approach to batting and captaincy alike, he has compiled 18 international hundreds which include 11 Test, 5 ODI and 2 T20I tons. He is a veteran of 421 international matches. Two elegant left-handers, Stephen Fleming and John Wright feature at numbers 6 and 7 respectively. Fleming played 395 matches and made 17 tons which include 9 Test and 8 ODI centuries. Wright featured in 231 matches making 12 Test hundreds and 1 ODI ton.
Then there is the attacking opener Martin Guptill who has played 206 matches scoring 12 international tons. He has scored 2 Test and 9 ODI tons and a solitary T20I century. The legendary Glen Turner is the next name to feature in the list at number 9. He made 7 Test and 3 ODI centuries having played 82 international matches. Chris Cairns and Craig McMillan are at number 10 with 9 international tons each. Cairns made 5 Test and 4 ODI tons having played 278 matches while McMillan has 6 Test and 3 ODI tons from 260 matches.
