Sachin: A Billion Dreams 4th Day collection; does decent business on weekday too

Not many could have predicted Sachin: A Billion Dreams the docu-drama to run as successfully as it is, solely because it has been released during the month of Ramadan when the Muslim community prohibits itself from watching movies. But the movie has not been affected by that and continues to run successfully at the box offices all over the world. The biopic has registered the seventh highest opening of the year in Hindi Cinema grossing 8.40 crores. On Saturday, it showed decent growth and minted the amount of 9.20 crores.

Sunday collection – 10.25 crores in India

On Sunday, the last day of the weekend, the biopic took an even bigger jump and collected an amount of Rs. 10.25 crores to boost it’s opening weekend total to 27.85 crores from 2400 screens in India including the Hindi (₹24.45cr), English (₹0.42cr), Tamil (₹0.93cr), Telugu (₹1.05cr) and Marathi (₹1cr) versions.

Entering weekdays again, the movie obviously has faced a tad bit drop in its collections. On Monday Sachin: A Billion Dreams garnered business of Rs. 4.60 crores and raised it’s 4 days total collection to 32.45 crores nationwide.

Overtakes Half Girlfriend

The biopic has overtaken the collection of Bollywood movie Half Girlfriend starring Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, while Hindi Medium and Baahubali 2, that released before the biopic have a lead due to their popularity and the big names involved. In the overseas market Sachin: A Billion Dreams has 400 screens and has received a decent response.

The movie has been well received by fans all over India, except for some who argue that it had nothing the fans didn’t know about the God of Cricket already. It chronicles the cricketing journey of Sachin the kid to Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar the greatest of all times and also gives brief insights into his family and love life.
