Shah Rukh Khan issues apology via Twitter after KKR loss
With the loss, KKR were forced out of the top 4 position on the points table
Two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders had a woeful outing in their previous two IPL encounters. After losing to Mumbai Indians at away, the Shah Rukh co-owned franchise succumbed to a similar fate at home. Only worse.
KKR lost last night’s fixture by a massive 102 runs as they were forced out of the top 4 position on the points table. On the other hand, MI who once again had a slow start to the season got a great boost as they gain a strong momentum. Coming on the back of two comprehensive victories, the once bottom-placed team has now broken into the playoff position.
Following this horrors show, KKR boss Shah Rukh Khan took to his Twitter handle to apologize to the fans on behalf of the franchise and the team. A gentleman that he is, the Bollywood icon wrote, “Sports is about the spirit & wins/losses don’t reflect that. But tonite as the ‘Boss’ I need to apologise to the fans for the lack of spirit”

Mumbai Indians produced a brilliant all-round performance after Ishan Kishan’s batting pyrotechnics outclassed Kolkata Knight Riders by 102 runs to keep themselves in the hunt for a play-offs berth in the Indian Premier League last night. Ishan’s 21-ball 62 to powered Mumbai Indians to 210/6 and in the process he entered the record books for scoring the second fastest fifty, off just 17 deliveries.
KKR never looked to be in the run chase after enduring a terrible start as they lost Sunil Narine in the second ball of the innings. Australian big-hitter Chris Lynn could manage 21 off 15 balls before a mix-up with Robin Uthappa on the last ball of the fourth over ended his stay in the middle.
KKR kept losing wickets at regular intervals as the asking rate climbed rapidly with every over bowled. The final nail in the coffin was put by Krunal Pandya as he completed the rout with the wickets of Tom Curran (18) and Kuldeep Yadav.
