Shardul Thakur to replace Barinder Sran for India-A tour

Mumbai pacer Shardul Thakur will replace the left-arm pacer Barinder Sran in the India-A squad for the Quadrangular A-team One Day series in Australia.

Sran was dropped after suffering from an injury and Thakur will be joining the India A side which needed reinforcement in their bowling attack. Australia A, South Africa A, and National Performance Squad are the three other teams to feature in the quadrangular series.

India A went on top of the points table with a total of 11 points from four matches, followed by NPS with 10, and South Africa A and Australia A with seven points each.

India A lost the first match of the series against Australia A after being bowled out for 52 but bounced back in the second match against South Africa A at Townsville by 3 wickets to seal the first win of the tour.

It was a much more comfortable win against the National Performance Squad by 86 runs at Townsville on 21st August. The fourth match for India was against South Africa A and was washed off due to rain, after India having a decent start to their innings.

India-A will face National Performance Squad for their next match at the Mackay.
