At a time when the whole world is battling against coronavirus outbreak, cricketers are resorting to unique challenges to keep themselves busy. In the absence of sporting events, many players have notched up their social media activity. Players have been trying their best to entertain their fans during these trying times.

Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh introduced a new challenge –‘keep it up’ across social media. Along with Yuvraj, many cricketers joined the bandwagon and shared clips of themselves while doing the challenge. The challenge requires the cricketers to keep the balance and bounce a ball off a cross-bat as many times as possible.

After being nominated by Yuvraj, India legend Sachin Tendulkar hogged the attention as he aced the challenge with a blindfold. The ‘Master Blaster’ even challenged Yuvraj to do better than him. Reacting to Sachin’s video, Yuvraj admitted he challenged the wrong legend. “I knew I challenged the wrong legend! This might take a week il try,” Yuvraj replied to Sachin’s challenge video.

Anil Kumble and Ajinkya Rahane also join the challenge

India’s youngster Shreyas Iyer also joined the trend and attempted the challenge after being nominated by Rohit Sharma. However, Iyer added a new twist in his ‘keep it up’ challenge. The Delhi Capitals skipper made the challenge more difficult for himself by switching bat positions while juggling the ball.

Iyer juggled the ball on the front, side and back of his bat. “Thank you for the challenge Rohit bhai. I would further like to nominate Abhishek Nayar, Shardul Thakur and Siddhesh Lad. Let’s see if you can do it better than this,” Iyer said.

Many other cricketers have also attempted the challenge with a unique approach. Former India coach Anil Kumble, in absence of a bat, completed the challenge by juggling the ball on his hand. He also urged everyone to stay indoors during the pandemic and follow the guidelines issued by the government. Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane also juggled a pink ball on the side of the bat and uploaded the clip of his version of ‘keep it up’ challenge.
