‘Are u watching the game or empty seats?’ - Harbhajan Singh hits back at Michael Vaughan for his empty Delhi seats comment
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan had earlier questioned the empty stands in India's ODI World Cup 2023 game in Delhi.
The fever of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 has been reaching each and every corner of the country. With the marquee event well underway, despite the hype of the competition being at an all-time high, there have been many instances, where the venues of the game have been found quite empty during the matches. Many pundits came forward to point out when there were empty stands in the season opener of the tournament between England and New Zealand.
In the same vein, there were empty stands to be found when India took on Afghanistan, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, on Wednesday, October 11, as well. Speaking of the same, the former English captain, Michael Vaughan, took to the 'X' platform and expressed his displeasure on the ongoing crowd situation. Vaughan showed his concern by asking about the empty seats during Team India's Delhi fixture against Afghanistan.
"Why so many empty seats in #Delhi for the India Game !??? #INDvsAFG,” Vaughan tweeted on his 'X' handle.
Seeing his tweet, the former Indian spin wizard, Harbhajan Singh, was quick to school the England great. Replying to his tweet, Harbhajan asked Vaughan whether he was watching the game or the empty seats. The empty stands could be due to the game being on working days and the heat in the mornings. The stands of the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi were filled to the brim as the day went on, and numerous fans were present to support the Indian team as they won their second game of the tournament in the evening.
“Are u watching the game or empty seats ??” Harbhajan Singh tweeted on Vaughan's post.
