Asia Cup 2023: Team India players engage in fun-filled headshots session ahead of Pakistan clash

Rohit Sharma and Co. will begin their campaign on Saturday, September 2, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium against Pakistan.

Ahead of their Asia Cup 2023 campaign opener against arch-rivals Pakistan, team India players engaged in a fun-filled headshots session. Notably, Rohit Sharma and Co. will begin their campaign on Saturday, September 2, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium against Pakistan.

Following their six-day skill enhancement camp in Alur, Karnataka, India arrived to the Island nation on Wednesday, August 30. Ahead of their first fixture, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to their social media handle to share a video of the players engaging in a headshots session, featuring the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and Shubman Gill among others. 

“Lights. Camera. Action. Have a look at #TeamIndia's fun-filled Headshots session ahead of #AsiaCup2023,” captioned the BCCI on their ‘X’ handle.

“We have reached Sri Lanka and we are very excited for the Asia Cup. We shot a few funny headshots,” Siraj told on the video shared by the BCCI.

India gears up for Pakistan clash

Speaking about the ongoing Asia Cup, Pakistan kickstarted their campaign with a massive 238-run win against Nepal, courtesy of Babar Azam’s 151 coupled with Iftikhar Ahmed’s unbeaten 109. Meanwhile, India gears up for their first match, and they will be eager to trump Pakistan in Saturday’s blockbuster.

Speaking about their last two meetings in the Continental Cup in 2022, the Men in Blue emerged victorious in the group stage, whereas Pakistan cruised to the final after winning the Super Four clash. Meanwhile, the likes of speedster Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, Prasidh Krishna, and Shreyas Iyer have returned to the setup for the ACC event after being confined to the sidelines due to injuries. 

However, head coach Rahul Dravid confirmed that KL Rahul will miss the first two group games as he continues to recuperate from his injury. Meanwhile, Siraj too makes his return to the ODI setup after being rested in the ODI leg of the West Indies tour after complaining of a sore ankle.
