James Anderson has been a revelation for England over the years with his swing bowling and he is approaching towards the final stages of what has been a marvellous career. With 664 wickets in 174 Tests, the 40-year-old is currently the highest wicket taker in international cricket among the fast bowlers and recently became the first bowler to reach a special hall mark of 950 international wickets.

However, despite his staggering records, Anderson has been an active figure on social media and recently, he named the words he had muted on Twitter. Among the list, the most interesting ones included Pant, McGrath, Clouderson, Worse than Steyn, sweep.

Anderson recently went past the record of Glenn Mcgrath for the most international wickets and is on the verge of becoming the first ever fast bowler to pick up 700 Test wickets. While McGrath reaped a lot of success with his seam position and lengths, Anderson is more of a swing bowler. The debate on who is considered to be the best fast bowler among the two continues.

Anderson has been referred to as Clouderson at times because of the way he becomes more effective in cloudy conditions. With the ball moving around nicely in cloudy conditions, Anderson is a nightmare for the batters especially in England.

James Anderson's battles with Rishabh Pant

Coming to Rishabh Pant, the left hander wasn’t afraid to play a reverse sweep in a Test last year on the bowling off Anderson which went viral on social media. The shot was one of the talking points in the series and Pant tried it yet again in the recently rescheduled fifth Test. Anderson revealed “reverse,” “sweep,” and “reverse-sweep” in his long muted list and it clearly relate to Pant’s unorthodox shot.

Anderson finally concluded with the words ‘Worse than Steyn’ in his muted list as he has often been raised comparisons with the former South African pacer. Dale Steyn picked up 439 wickets in 93 Tests at an average of 22.95.
