'Look for excuses or look to get better' - Virat Kohli flaunts workout regime ahead of Windies tour
The 34-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down and is regarded as one of the fittest cricketers in the world.
Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli is known for his strict fitness regime, and the former Indian skipper shared a video of him sweating it out at the gym ahead of India's tour of the West Indies. The 34-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down and is regarded as one of the fittest cricketers in the world.
Virat Kohli was one of the senior batters who was critiqued for his performance in the recently concluded World Test Championship Final at The Oval. Kohli, who missed his half-century by a solitary run in the fourth innings of the match, was criticised for his mode of dismissal as he departed after chasing a wide delivery at a crucial juncture of the match.
Following India's disappointing loss, which prolonged the Asian giant's trophy drought in ICC events, Kohli made his presence felt on social media for the first time. The senior batter was seen sweating it out during an intense workout session, compiling an inspiring quote for his fans. He wrote, "Look for excuses or look to get better."
A few new faces are in contention for the Windies tour
Former South African cricketer and Kohli's close friend AB de Villiers was one of the first to react to the post, labelling the Indian cricketer as a machine. Although Kohli is an integral part of the Indian team, the batting bulwark might get rested for the white-ball assignments of the Windies tour.
The former Indian skipper was recently seen enjoying his time in London with his wife Anushka Sharma. He was spotted at the Krishna Das Kirtan show in London last week. There have been rumours of a youth-oriented Indian team travelling to the Caribbean with the management looking at the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Verma and Rinku Singh to usher the team into the future.
