In the 10th match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, South Africa clashed with Australia. Pat Cummins won the toss and put the Temba Bavuma-led side to bat first. South Africa posted a formidable total against their opponents, largely thanks to the exceptional performance of Quinton de Kock. De Kock's second consecutive World Cup century proved to be a game-changer as he anchored the South African innings.

Aiden Markram also played a significant role, scoring a fluent half-century on a challenging pitch that made run-scoring difficult, especially when the pace was taken off the ball. South Africa initially appeared on track for a score of 325 or more, but Australia fought back in the death overs to restrict the flow of runs.

Glenn Maxwell emerged as Australia's standout bowler, capitalising on the conditions of the pitch. Despite the loss of momentum as the ball lost its hardness, De Kock and Markram displayed resilience. Markram's composure during the middle overs was particularly noteworthy. For Aussies, Maxwell and Mitchell Starc both took two wickets each.

In their pursuit of the target, the Australian team never seemed to be in contention and lost wickets at regular intervals. None of their batters were able to handle the fiery bowling attack of the Proteas, led by Kagiso Rabada, who claimed three wickets. Marnus Labuschagne showed some resistance with his 46 runs, but ultimately, South Africa comfortably secured victory by a margin of 134 runs.

Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, and Tabraiz Shamsi all took two wickets each and helped Proteas to maintain their position on the point table. Quinton was awarded the Player of the Match award for his brilliant innings. Playing his last World Cup, he displayed his excellent form and dominated the Australian bowling lineup with an impressive 109 runs off just 106 balls, hitting eight fours and five sixes.
