Popular influencer Ankur Warikoo takes shot at Prithvi Shaw for his fitness issues, Later apologizes after fans bash him
Prithvi Shaw smashed a memorable Double century for the Northants in the ongoing One Day Cup in England.
There is a dearth of talent in the country of billions dreams and hence people from all walks of life relate to the game and the players involved in it. While in recent times there has been debate over the fitness of various players, despite how they have performed over the years in the domestic circuit and in the international arena as well. One such player who has become the centerstage of the fitness debate is none other than Prithvi Shaw.
In the same vein, a renowned influencer Ankur Warikoo, took a shot at the prolific batter for not maintaining his fitness. Reposting Shaw’s picture after he recently scored a century in England’s one-day cup, Ankur Warikoo tweeted a post that did not go down well with the fans.
“Bet his mom thinks ‘patla ho gaya hai," Warikoo wrote on his Twitter handle.
Seeing his response, many fans came forward to slander the influencer for his insensitive comment which led to a major controversy. This led to fans bashing the influencer by sharing their blatantly honest take on his tweet.

Furthermore, as Ankur Warikoo received slander from the fans and was made aware of Prithvi Shaw’s situation, the influencer was quick to post an apology. Making another tweet, Warikoo stated that he was sorry for his reply and that he was not going to delete his previous comment as he wanted it to act like a reminder to him.
“I realize my mistake after people's responses. This pic is Prithvi Shaw's who lost his mother at the age of 4. Which makes my post extremely insensitive and not something I am proud of. In an attempt to invoke my mom's natural reaction to my fitness levels in my 20s, I made a horrible mistake.@PrithviShaw
- I do not expect you to read this or least of all forgive me,” Warikoo tweeted while apologizing for his post.
“But it is my responsibility to apologize for this. I am truly sorry. For clarification - I do not follow cricket actively, so I was not aware of Prithvi (beyond his name). Would have acted differently was I aware of him and his history. PS: Not deleting this, so that this continues to act as a reminder to me,” Warikoo concluded.
