India will be facing England in the three-match ODI series with the first ODI scheduled to commence on Thursday, February 6, at the Vidarbha Cricket Stadium in Nagpur. The hosts have won the T20I series comprehensively with a margin of 4-1 under Suryakumar Yadav. The ODI team will be led by Rohit Sharma and the batter has been struggling both with the bat and captaincy of late.

Rohit has had some tough months with the bat as he has failed to come among runs. Under him, India lost the New Zealand series by 0-3 and also the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. As the heat is catching up, his individual performance as a leader has been under the scanner. Ahead of the series, the Hitman iterated that he was looking to start the series as a fresh one leaving the bygone things behind.

What kind of a question is that? This is a different format at, different time. As usual, as cricketers, we know there will be ups and downs and I have faced a lot in my career. This is nothing new to me. We know every day is a fresh day. Every series is a fresh series. So yeah, I'm looking forward to the challenge not looking at what has happened in the past,” said Rohit during the pre-match press conference.

“Obviously the public doesn't, for me also there is no reason to look behind too much. A lot of good things has happened as well. So it's important that I focus on what is coming up and what lies ahead for me. It is as simple as that. Look, to try and start the series on a high. Let's see what happens,” he further added.
