South Africa's star pacer and one of the most sought-after talents in the world, Kagiso Rabada, made an instant impact for MI Cape Town in the seventh match of the SA20 2023. The speedster knocked over Reeza Hendricks in just his first over in the tournament. Hendricks had no answer to Rabada's delivery that seamed in viciously to knock over his off stump.

MI Cape Town were on the receiving end of a damaging defeat in their previous encounter at the hands of the Durban Super Giants. In a bid to change their fortunes, the team management made a bold decision by drafting Kagiso Rabada into the playing eleven in place of the English pace sensation Jofra Archer.

Rabada, who sat out the opening two fixtures of his side in the SA20, made an instant impact for his side. He was handed the ball in the fourth over of the match by skipper Rashid Khan. The Afghan superstar was delighted by his decision after Rabada made a mess of Reeza Hendricks' stumps on just his fourth delivery in the tournament, sending Hendricks' off pole for a walk. The Proteas bowler broke into his trademark airplane celebration following his searing delivery to dismiss his compatriot.

The mercurial pacer, who recently featured in the Test series against Australia, opened the floodgates for his side with that wicket as the Joburg Super Kings were reeling at 41-4 after losing skipper Faf du Plessis to another peach. Rabada finished with exceptional bowling figures of 2/12 in his four overs on his first appearance in the newly introduced franchise league.
