'Thank you for stopping by captain sahab'- Shubman Gill meets Rashid Khan ahead of IPL 2024
The Afghan spin wizard shared a heartwarming photo of himself with Gill on Instagram that has won the internet. "Thank you for stopping by captain sahab," Rashid captioned the post.
Gujarat Titans' (GT) newly appointed captain Shubman Gill met fellow teammate Rashid Khan ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Rashid recently underwent a minor lower-back surgery in the United Kingdom after the conclusion of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. Notably, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has confirmed that the 25-year-old's surgery was successful and anticipating a speedy recovery.
Rashid was instrumental for the national side in the ICC mega event in India, with remarkable performances against England and Pakistan. A break after the ODI World Cup led him to miss the Big Bash League (BBL). As he is undergoing a recovery process, Gill has paid a visit to him.

Moreover, Rashid's post got reactions from fans and legendary England captain Michael Vaughan and GT, as they were delighted to see both of them together. The former England cricketer said, "Love this." GT, on the other hand, were hoping that there was no evil eye cast on both the stars as they wrote, "Nazar na lage," including an evil eye emoji.
Shubman Gill was named as the captain of Gujarat Titans after Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians on November 26. The Indian batting sensation had opened up about his excitement to lead the team, anticipating it would be an exciting challenge.
"I'm going to be captaining Gujarat Titans. That's a very exciting challenge. And there are going to be a lot of learnings from that experience. And hopefully, I can take those learnings and improve and work on myself based on those experiences and learnings. And hopefully, that is going to help me in the next year,” the 24-year-old had said.
