Watch: Katie Mack plucks on to ball between legs to complete catch in WBBL match
Brisbane Heat Women beat Adelaide Strikers Women by eight runs in match no. 20 of WBBL.
During match No. 20 of Women's Big Bash League 2024 between Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat Women at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, Katie Mack pulled off a catch that at one point looked like would have been dropped.
The incident took place during the 17th over of Brisbane Heat's innings, with Mack positioned at forward square leg, went for Charli Knott's catch who attempted to clear the boundary off Jemma Barsby's bowling.
As the ball sailed, Mack positioned herself for what looked like to be a routine catch. However in her initial attempt, the ball slipped through her fingers, despite losing her footing and slipping on the field, Mack managed to keep her eyes on the ball while falling, somehow maintaining control as it remained between her legs.
In the same process, Mack completed the catch while lying on the ground, ensuring the ball never touched the turf. The dismissal ended Knott's innings at 7 runs but also provided a crucial breakthrough for the Strikers.
