Varun Chakravarthy continues his magical spell to dismiss Jamie Overton in Rajkot
Varun Chakravarthy takes his second five-wicket haul in T20Is
The third T20I of the series between India and England commenced at the Niranjan Shah Stadium, in Rajkot. The Indian team won the toss and elected to bowl first. The England team was put into bat once again. After a good start, the English side lost half their side in quick succession, with just five overs left in the game.
The bowler who has been causing trouble for the visitors once again was Varun Chakravarthy, who once again disrupted the England innings in the middle overs. As a result, it turned out to be one of his best figures in T20I as he finished with figures of 5/24. Notably, this was Chakravarthy's second five-wicket haul in T20Is.
One of the most notable wickets in Chakravarthy’s spell was the wicket of England bowling all-rounder, Jamie Overton. Chakravarthy had bowled a quicker one which drifted in a bit where Overton went on to attempt a paddle sweep only to see the ball knock over his leg stump. Overton went for a golden duck and was Varun’s third victim in the game.

Apart from Chakravarthy, the other Indian bowlers who bowled some productive spells were India T20I vice-captain Axar Patel (1/19) and Hardik Pandya who ended with figures of 2/33 in his full quota of four overs. Due to some decent knocks the Jos Buttler-led side has put up a competitive total on the board and the Indian batters will be coming into bat hoping to chase down the score and claim the series.
