South Africa needed AB de Villiers to play a big knock in the second innings in order to gun down the huge target of 417. But he was agonisingly caught short courtesy a good fielding effort from Warner and bagged a golden duck. The ball was tucked to the backward square leg by Markram and De Villiers straight away ran in pursuit of the quick single. But there was no chance for a run and Markram rightfully denied him. De Villiers hobbled on his way back and was on the ground in his attempt to come back.

After disturbing the stumps, Nathan Lyon dropped the ball the batsman’s chest and joined his team in their celebrations. Though it was unknowingly done by the bowler, the actions from him were not in the spirit of the game. Lyon has also been charged under Level 1 offence which he accepted and also apologised to AB de Villiers which is a nice gesture from the cricketer.
