South Africa vs India: Suresh Raina gets a good net session ahead of first T20I
He looks set to take the field for the Indian colors after a gap of over a year.
Veteran Indian batsman Suresh Raina has joined the Indian team ahead of the 3-match T20I series against South Africa. Team India have been juggernauts in the limited overs cricket in the recent times. Their sensational run of form was very much evident with the way they totally outplayed the Proteas in their own backyard. The Virat Kohli-led side thumped the hosts by a margin of 5-1 in the recently concluded ODI series.
After the good show in the ODI series, the team would be hoping to continue on the same note in the shortest format of the game. The two sides are scheduled to lock horns in a 3-match T20I series. The action moves to the Wanderers, Johannesburg for the first T20I of the series. It is worth noting that it is this very venue that saw the fortunes turn for the Indian side.
They had registered a consolation win in the Test match that they played at the venue earlier on the tour. Since then, the Indian team has totally dominated the opposition. Also worth noting is the fact that the hosts could take some confidence from the fact that their only win in the ODI series had come at this very venue.
Certainly, the T20I series opener promises to be a cracker of an affair. The eyes would be on the team combinations. Several players have joined the Indian squad for the series. Suresh Raina is one of them. By the look of things, it is apparent that Suresh Raina might find a place in the starting eleven of the team. He had a very good net session ahead of the big game.
The BCCI posted a video of the same on their official social media handle. In the video, Raina is seen middling the ball well and playing decently. He looks set to take the field for the Indian colors after a gap of over a year.

“How’s that for a @ImRaina flourish! #TeamIndia #SAvIND,” the BCCI tweeted along with the video.
