SRH chief coach Tom Moody heaps praises on the bowling unit after their exemplary display
Tom Moody was extremely appreciative of the efforts and feels that the young SRH bowling unit is capable of doing wonders
The Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise, without a shadow of a doubt, has one of the lethal bowling attacks this season in the IPL. Not just in theory, but also the performances put in by the bowlers on the field are extraordinary and the results serve as a testament to that.
In their previous fixture, when all seemed lost against Rajasthan Royals, the bowlers stepped up yet again to ensure a third successful defence on the trot and their flight to the top of the points table. The Sunrisers bowling attack stood their fort as they defended of low par total of 151.
SRH’s Head coach Tom Moody was extremely appreciative of the efforts and feels that the young SRH bowling unit is a close-knit group, capable of doing wonders. Also, the depth in the bowling department is a big boon to the team. It’s evident as the leading wicket-taker so far in the IPL is one of their younger pacers, Siddarth Kaul.
Prior to yesterday’s match, lauding his bowlers, Moody said, “I think once you get a bowling unit that is young, impressive and always looking to develop, they generate their own growth and energy. I think that’s what we are finding within our group. There’s a positive energy within that group, they’re all learning off each other. There’s a strong work ethic along with a strong determination to learn from each other.”
SRH’s journey so far
After starting their IPL 2018 campaign on a decent note by winning three consecutive games, Hyderabad faltered a bit, losing a couple of games. However, they have now put aside the turbulence, returning to winning ways in their last couple of fixtures.
And after sealing the thriller unfolded at Jaipur on Saturday, SRH recorded a hat-trick of wins, all be defending their targets. With the win, the Kane Williamson led side has climbed to the epitome of the IPL points table. The orange outfit currently has 12 points from 8 games, two more than second-placed CSK.
They next face bottom-placed Delhi Daredevils, as they look keen to continue their sublime form throughout the tournament.
