Strongest Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Playing XI Against Delhi Capitals (DC)
Who will be the four overseas players?
Kolkata Knight Riders have finally won their second game in the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League. After winning their first match, the Eoin Morgan-led team had to wait for four more matches before they got another point against their team. Now, they will be facing the Delhi Capitals, who have won four out of their six matches.
As the Kolkata team aims to get a few more points under their name to keep themselves in contention for the playoffs, they will be needed to perform better than how they have done so far in this tournament.
Here is the Predicted XI of Kolkata Knight Riders for match 25 of IPL 2021:
Openers (Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana)
Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana failed once again failed to give Kolkata Knight Riders a good start. The duo had started the season with some really good partnerships but since then they haven’t really done well. Having said that, as KKR is moving towards mid-season, they would want their openers to come good. It will be a challenge for both the players to get the pressure of lack of form away from their minds and put up a good performance.
Middle-order (Rahul Tripathi, Eoin Morgan, Dinesh Karthik)
The win against Punjab was satisfying for the Knight Riders management for a couple of reasons. One of the key aspects would be the confidence that Rahul Tripathi and Eoin Morgan got from their innings. The duo got 40+ each and would be looking to get a move on in this tournament.
Morgan especially doesn’t have a lot of runs on his back, which he might want to fix. After guiding his team to a win, he would be confident and would look to continue from where he left in the previous match. Dinesh Karthik looked good during his cameo in the last match, so it will be interesting to see if he can also produce a good knock in this match or not.
All-rounders (Sunil Narine and Andre Russell)
Sunil Narine’s batting had become a talking point for the KKR when he used to open the innings. But so far, in the three matches, the management has used him in the middle order as a pinch hitter, but the move hasn’t really got them much success. Having said that, he will retain his place in the team based on his bowling performance. Andre Russell would expect some extra responsibility with the bat but at no. 6 or no.7, we are unlikely to witness any Russell storm, which will last more than four or five overs.
Bowlers (Pat Cummins, Varun Chakravarthy, Prasidh Krishna, Shivam Mavi)
The bowlers did a very satisfying job for the Kolkata team in the previous match. They bowled tight lines and got into the match early which allowed them to get the better of the Punjab team. Shivam Mavi has been largely impressive in the first two matches, where he has bowled economically and also picked two wickets.
Pat Cummins seems to have also found his rhythm and with Prasidh Krishna he will have to form a good bowling combination in order to find success for the Knight Riders. Varun Chakravarthy is the key that binds the entire KKR bowling together. He has been amongst wickets and has been used very smartly by Morgan.
