Chetan Sharma, the head of the BCCI selection committee, has clarified the situation around Hardik Pandya’s selection, claiming that the all-rounder will be selected whenever he is 100 percent fit. Pandya hasn’t played for India since the T20 World Cup in 2021 when the team was eliminated from the group stage. However, Indian supporters would like to see the hard-hitting hitter join the team.

The 28-year-old flamboyant all-rounder has returned to action in IPL 2022 and is currently leading the Gujarat Titans‘ side. He has led the team from the front, scoring 333 runs in 10 matches. He has also shared the new ball a couple of times, picking up four wickets.

Given that Australia will host the T20 World Cup, Hardik’s inclusion can add immense value to the squad. He has appeared in 54 T20 matches for India, scoring 553 runs with an impressive strike rate of 146.29. In the short version of the game, Pandya has taken 42 wickets at an economy rate of 8.23.
