Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2023
Modelled around the IPL, the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) is all set to commence on Thursday, June 15, with the summit clash to be played on June 29. The entirety of the competition will be played at the MCA International Stadium in Pune.
Puneri Bappa, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings, Eagle Nashik Titans, Kolhapur Tuskers, Solapur Royals, and Ratnagiri Jets are the six franchises part of the event. The MPL has a round-robin format wherein each team will play every other team once and will be followed by a playoff format which includes the Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the final.
Eminent international cricketers such as Kedar Jadhav, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Rahul Tripathi among others are part of the event. The T20 competition will see six franchises battling it out for the prestigious trophy representing teams from Pune, Kolhapur, Nashik, Sambhaji, Ratnagiri and Solapur.
It is worth mentioning that the MPL was the first T20 tournament organised by a state committee. However, after the first three editions, the MPL was stalled and is now being revived after a decade. Fans can catch the action DD Sports in India and the live stream for the event on the FanCode app.
