The ICC World Twenty20 was first held in 2007. It was first decided that every two years an ICC World Twenty20 tournament is to take place, except in the event of an ICC Cricket World Cup being scheduled in the same year, in which case it will be held the year before. The first tournament was in 2007 in South Africa where India defeated Pakistan in a dramatic final. This inaugural World T20 was a huge success and set the benchmark for T20 cricket. 10. Zimbabwe- 4:
The African side has played 10 matches at the global event and registered 4 wins and 6 losses. The team has defeated Hong Kong (2016), Netherlands (2014) and UAE (2014) however their most stunning win was against the mighty Australians in 2007. In one of the biggest upsets in the history of the competition, the Aussies batted first and were restricted to 138/9 by the determined Zimbabweans. In reply, opener Brendan Taylor’s classy 60 not out off 45 balls anchored his team to a historic win. His knock included 4 fours and 2 sixes.
