Love finds its way to us. Cricketers are always discussed under the topics of how much runs they scored, how many wickets they took, their records, achievements and all the on field action. Here’s something about them with which each one of us can connect. A fairy tale love story that has kept them going midst the busy life they have.

1. Sachin and Anjali Tendulkar:

The story of love at first sight, Mumbai International Airport, Sachin was returning from his first international cricket tour of New Zealand in 1990, Anjali was there to receive her mother, they saw each other for the very first time and that very moment Anjali fell for him and so did our Master Blaster the two were in love from that very moment. Their second meeting was at a friend’s house what Sachin liked about Anjali was her unawareness about the game, being a medical student she was too much into her studies, and she knew nothing about cricket! She knew Sachin as a person but did not know who Sachin the cricketer was! Its beautiful when a person loves you not for what you do, but for what you are. Every person with fame expects this from his partner a love that doesn’t come because his popularity.

Well then they dated for 5 long years, and it was not at all easy. It was tough for them to go out on an uninterrupted date, Anjali first went to Sachin’s house disguised as a journalist. He, also played his part, went on a movie date in disguise unfortunately his glasses fell and within no time he was surrounded by fans and the couple had to be escorted out. Anjali sent letters to him when her love was on international tours to save bills. They got married on 24^th May 1995, it’s been 20 years and they are still going strong supporting each other through thick and thins they have seen each other grow in their careers and life.

Now, parents of two children Sachin and Anjali have a happy family. She left her job of a pediatrician to take care of their children because Sachin always kept busy and her sacrifice allowed Tendulkar to pursue his cricketing dream. Anjali is 6 years elder to Sachin but their age has never been a matter of concern. With sacrifices and understanding, love found its way to our ‘master blaster’. Love has no barriers, fairy tales happen.
