At a stage in early 2014, one of the most talented pros of the Australian cricket, Michael Clarke suffered from an immense back pain followed by a career ending hamstring injury. There was a time when he could barely sit or bend his back. Prospects of returning to international cricket and that too as the Aussie captain seemed to flicker away for this right handed batting superstar. But he didn’t lose hope and made an inspiring return to international cricket in December, 2014 and scored an emphatic test century in memory of Phil Hughes. But his injury shadowed his fitness once again and with the World Cup edging closer, it was no easy time for ‘Pup’. Clarke underwent a hamstring surgery, worked hard to rehabilitate and get fit at the right time and in the end he proved to possess the courage to beat the injury and lead Australia to a triumph at the World Cup. He retired from ODI cricket with his name being crafted as a World Cup winning captain.
