The Kiwi all-rounder Scott Styris turned out to be the surprise package of the ill organised 2007 World cup. He scored 499 runs at an average of 83.16 with 1 century (111*) against Sri Lanka in Super Eights, top scoring for New Zealand who reached yet another world cup semi-final only to lose to Sri Lanka.
Styris also picked up 9 wickets with a best of 4/43 in the tournament.
