If Sachin Tendulkar was the master of scoring centuries then Virender Sehwag was superior to him in terms of converting the hundreds into double and triple hundreds. He was highly unorthodox, many critics pointed out flaws in his batting technique. His footwork was minimal, his feet were always buried in the crease and he hardly moved them while playing his shots. However, his mindset was straight when batting, he believed in the total destruction of the opposition’s bowling attack. Sehwag was loved for his batting approach. He played 104 Test matches for India and scored 23 centuries at a stunning strike rate of 82.23. Out of the 23 centuries he scored in his career, Viru went past 150 runs 14 times overall. His career best score is 319 which came against South Africa at Chennai. Furthermore, he has four double centuries and two triple centuries to his credit. Such wonderful numbers are more than enough to showcase his ability to score big runs.
