Nicknamed ‘Mr. Cricket’ due to his encyclopedic knowledge of his sport, Mike Hussey had a highly successful international career, being the top-ranked ODI batsman in the world in 2006. The left-hander was an accumulator of runs and also a master in the final stages of a limited-overs innings well adept at striking bug when required. He played 111 innings in D/N ODIs scoring 3785 runs at an average of 49.15 and a strike rate of 88.64.He scored 26 fifties and 2 tons, with a top score of 109* and remained not out 34 times in D/N ODIs.
