South African all-rounder Ryan McLaren picked up 13 3 wicket hauls in 41 matches since Jan 2013. He has been their go to all-rounder since the retirement of Jacques Kallis. But he was left out of the 2015 World Cup squad when Farhaad Behardien, another all-rounder was chosen ahead of McLaren, raising lots of hues and cries all over South African cricket community. The reason given was that McLaren had not done much with the bat during the period of consideration and they had enough bowlers to do the wicket taking job.
