10. Sachin Tendulkar – 248* v Bangladesh at Dhaka (10 December 2004):
The history books remember this majestic innings from the little master as his highest individual score in Test cricket. It was the 1st Test match of the tour and Bangladesh were dismissed for a paltry 184 in the first innings. India too were struggling at 24-2 when Sachin walked in to bat. The maestro played the innings of his life with an unbeaten 248 embellished with 35 boundaries. He nearly ran out of partners in the 190s – with Kumble and Harbhajan Singh not lasting too long – it was then that he found an unlikely ally in Zaheer Khan. The duo put on 133 runs for the last wicket. Zaheer lost his calm and was stumped on 75 and the little master was left unbeaten on 248. India won the match by an innings and 140 runs.
