Taibu is one of the most celebrated cricketers of Zimbabwe. He scored 3309 runs in 143 matches in ODIs for Zimbabwe at an average of 30.35. In May 2004 Tatenda Taibu became the youngest captain in Test history when he captained the Zimbabwe team against Sri Lanka. He has also scored a total of 2 centuries and 21 fifties in his 143 matches.
