3. Vijay Bharadwaj – 1280 runs (1998-99):

The former Indian all-rounder who represented India in 3 Tests and 10 ODIs, Vijay Bharadwaj was a key member of the Karnataka Ranji team in the 1990s. He made his debut in 1994, but made a mark in the 1998-99 season when he scored 1280 runs in 10 matches at a staggering average of 106.66. He had 4 centuries and 7 half-centuries under his belt in the season. His highest score was 200, which came in a match against Kerala. He was phenomenal with the ball too, as he picked up 21 wickets and helped Karnataka ease past Madhya Pradesh in the finals of the tournament. Owing to the performances in the tournament, he received a national call.
