Stuart Broad had an unbelievable opening day of the fourth Test at Trent Bridge, where he picked up 8/15, his best Test figures to bowl Australia out for 60, their seventh-lowest total in Tests. He also became the fifth England bowler to take 300 Test wickets. Having been designated as the leader of the attack in the absence of James Anderson, Broad responded in tremendous fashion by dismantling the Australian top order in a memorable spell of bowling. None of the Aussie batters had a clue when Broad was bowling. The way he got the bowl to move from a full length, which is not natural to him was exemplary.
