Top 5 Bowling spells of Ashes 2015: The 2015 Ashes has come to an end and to no one’s surprise once again the urn is back with the home team. This has been a trend off late. When sides play in their backyard they look dominant and when out of their waters they can’t put a foot right. The series though also showed that the current English side is not unbeatable by any standards. They were pretty much on the backfoot after Lords. But Australia failed to cash in and eventually lost the series 3-2. Bowlers were on top after their team made huge scores but failed to make an impact when they didn’t have the cushion of the runs. From the likes of  Stuart Broad and Mitchell Johnson to Anderson and Marsh, there were many spells which stood out.

5. Mitchell Johnson 2^nd Test Lords (3-27):

Mitchell Johnson led Australia’s attack as they thrashed England by 405 runs to win the second Ashes Test at Lord’s to level the five-match series at 1-1. Left-arm fast bowler Johnson took three for 27 as England were dismissed in a mere 37 overs in the second innings. It was only the ninth time in the 138-year history of Test cricket that a side had won by more than 400 runs. Mitchell Johnson, the chief tormentor rediscovered his best form with a brilliant spell. England lost three wickets in the space of 13 devastating balls as Johnson first exposed Ballance’s woeful front-foot technique with a full-pitch delivery which crashed into off-stump and then also got the crucial wicket of England skipper Cook.
