The Scotland opener hammered a brutal 156 off 134 balls against Bangladesh in the ICC World Cup 2015 to a register a record for himself, the highest individual score by an associate player in the World Cups. Coetzer’s 156 propelled the Scots to a 318/8 in 50 overs. Coetzer hit 17 fours and 4 towering sixes during his innings with a strike rate of 116.41. But his heroics went in vain as Bangladesh chased down the score with 6 wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare. He was, however, named the Man of the Match for his beautiful innings of 156.
