#1 Samuel Badree’s 4/9 vs Mumbai Indians
The West Indian was warming the benches of Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first 3 games and was brought into the side in the 4th match against Mumbai Indians at home. RCB batted first and scored 142/5 which looked like a walk in the park for the Mumbai line-up. But Badree an immediate impact after his selection in the side as he picked up a hattrick in the third over of the innings.
The leg-spinner removed Parthiv Patel, Mitchell McClenaghan and Rohit Sharma off consecutive deliveries and pushed MI on the back foot. Especially the dismissal of Rohit off a googly was a fabulous a sight to watch. He picked up another wicket of Nitish Rana and ended with stunning figures of 4/9 in his allotted 4 overs.
MI were down to 4/7 and then 5/33 after 8 overs and the target of 143 looked far away. But Kieron Pollard came to their rescue and played a magnificent knock of 70 off just 47 balls with 3 fours and 5 sixes. He was beautifully supported by Krunal Pandya as the duo added 93 runs for the 6th wicket. MI got home with 7 balls to spare and Badree’s heroics went in vain.
