Murali Vijay has been the main pillar of Indian batting in this test series. As an opener he has played exceptionally well. Vijay played patient innings all through the series, coming true to his dressing room name ‘Monk’. In the 8 innings he scored 482 runs. In first test he scored 50 and 99. After failing to get to triple figures in the Adelaide test Vijay came to the second test with more grit and a plan to keep himself off the nervousness and he scored a brilliant 144 in thr first innings but got out on 27 in the 2nd. In the third test match he scored 68 and 11. And in the final test match he scored 0 and 80 respectively. He played well against the new ball and waited for the right opportunities to score runs without risk.
