Twitter leaps in joy after Corey Anderson grabs a stunner
Twitter certainly went ballistic, and it was not just the usual Twitterati who enjoyed the catch, but it was also the various cricketing experts such as Harsha Bhogle and the others compared this spectacle as gold in the tournament.
Delhi Daredevils and catches have not gone hand-in-hand this season at the Indian Premier League. Dropped catches have cost as many as three games to the team from Delhi this season. Sanju Samson, Amit Mishra and Karun Nair have been amongst the culprit of dropping regulation catches that eventually cost them the game.
The ongoing match against last year’s playoffs team Gujarat Lions was not different as the skipper Suresh Raina was dropped as many as three times in the same inning putting the DD fielding coach to shame. At the half-way mark, Zaheer Khan was quoted as saying that the team has put in enough hard work at the training ground for fielding, which has not reflected in the tournament thus far.
Stop and wait there. The Daredevils certainly proved their competitiveness with one of the best catches in the tournament thus far, and it certainly had to come from the Kiwi all-rounder Corey Anderson. Anderson in the opportunities that he has got has proved his worth.
It all started in the 15th over when Pat Cummins was handed the ball to bowl to the dangerous Indian batsman Dinesh Karthik, who looked in devastating touch. The ball took an edge and lobbed in the air but since Anderson was at mid-off looked almost certain to evade him.
But Anderson leapt as high as he could and plucked the ball in the thin air. The catch was highly appreciated not only in the commentary box but also on the micro-blogging platform. It certainly went down as a real candidate for the best catch of the tournament with Saha almost leading the collection of stunners.
Twitter certainly went ballistic, and it was not just the usual Twitterati who enjoyed the catch, but it was also the various cricketing experts such as Harsha Bhogle and the others compared this spectacle as gold in the tournament.
