Twitter not happy with Team India being served beef in their lunch at Lord's
The visitors had a bad day at the office as well.
Team India was run ragged on the third day of the ongoing Lord’s Test courtesy of the sensational partnership between Chris Woakes and Jonny Bairstow. They had started off well by picking our wickets in the first session but things went awry since then. Meanwhile, BCCI’s tweet informed the fans that Beef was being served at Lord’s for the visitors which caused a stir on social media as the unhappy fans lashed out at the team.
The official Twitter handle of the Indian cricket board has been putting up a lunch menu at Lord’s in this Test and the third day included a dish named ‘Braised Beef Pasta’ along with the other stuff as well. Beef is banned in most parts of India despite the fact that the Bombay High Court, in May 2016, gave the judgement that consumption or possession of beef is legal under Article 21 of Constitution of India.
The fans weren’t impressed a bit with Team being served Beef in England. However, the menu is available for both the teams in action and is served in buffet style. The players have the food of their own liking and it is not clear if the Indian players actually eat Beef.
Bad day at the office
When the social media wasn’t happy with the menu at Lord’s, the visitors were having a bad day at the office. They were in the game when England were 131/5 and would’ve hoped to bundle out the opposition early. But Woakes and Bairstow batted superbly to vanish all the hopes of India to come back into the game. They ended the day with a lead of 250 runs in the first innings with Woakes still batting on 120.
But the rain continues to threaten the proceedings which might help India only if the day is washed out. The fourth-day forecast is not so promising and the fans also will be hoping that the game ends in a draw.
